Meet Antonella Haug, Practice Lead – Modern Workplace – Huddler by Diversus 

Having collaborated closely with Diversus for numerous years, Antonella felt a strong sense of alignment when she made the decision to join the Huddler team as the Practice Lead – Modern Workplace. 

“I had worked with Diversus for many years and had Diversus staff embedded in my IT teams. I always loved the amazing culture that had clearly been fostered in every Diversus team member, which was a perfect match to my own values. A truly strong diverse and inclusive culture is quite a difficult thing to achieve, and it was hard to resist an opportunity to be a part of a team like that,” Antonella said.  

ICT has been ingrained in Antonella’s life since the beginning – it’s practically in her DNA. Born with a natural inclination to help others, tackle challenges, and nurture enduring connections.   

Her exceptional ability to communicate effectively, coupled with her deep affection for technology, has allowed her to assist countless individuals and organisations over the years. Especially in empowering young people to navigate the world of ICT and find their own voice within it. 

 “I love that I have the power to encourage everyone to speak up and be heard. I’ve had many team members over the years who despite having excellent ideas and contributions, have shied away from speaking up for various reasons. Being able to support these people to find their voice is something that’s very special to me,” Antonella said.  

One of Antonella’s most notable accomplishments isn’t typically what comes to mind when considering career achievements. However, for her, it’s the creation of strong team cultures centered around genuine care for each other, the company, and the clients. 

Recently, she received well-deserved recognition for her accomplishments and was honoured with the annual Corporate and Business Services Values Award from her wonderful team and colleagues during her time at DBCA.  

“All my IT teams over the years have been incredibly important to me and it’s never been one thing that sparks the change, it’s a million tiny things that build up over time. One day you stop, look back and realise that the positive energy has taken on a life of its own and that anything is possible with a team that’s excited to come in and work with each other every day,” Antonella said.  

Why does Antonella believe gender equality is important for women? 

“I think I always draw on my childhood when I think about this question. My mum is a truly wonderful woman who has inspired me is so many ways but was very much a product of her time,” 

“I knew that I wanted to work in IT from a very young age, but a memory that has always haunted me was being told by my mum and a female teacher at my school in no uncertain terms that “IT was for boys”. Sadly, as I went through Uni and my early career, I began to see more and more why they had felt they were helping me with this advice. Thankfully my stubborn nature only made me more determined to prove them all wrong, but I know that sadly this is not the case for many women,”  

“Everyone should be given the same opportunities and a level playing field to showcase their exceptional talents and to fulfil their potential.” Antonella said.
